Job offer -Administrator (part-time position)

Municipality of Wellington requires an Administrator to manage the day to day affairs of the municipality, based on approved policies and bylaws set by the Council. The person will work with Council in preparing policies and bylaws, preparing and monitoring budgets, and preparing monthly financial updates.  Person will also need to prepare project and grant applications and complete reports as needed.

Successful candidates should have a strong proficiency in Sage(Simply Accounting), Word and Excel softwares; have excellent communication skills in both English and French; and  hold a post-secondary diploma/certificate in Accounting or Business Administration

Salary to be determined based on qualifications.

Wellington is located along Route 124, just off Route 2, twenty kilometres west of Summerside. The Confederation Bridge in Borden-Carleton. It is a cozy neighbourhood of approximately 400 residents, serviced with a fire department and sewer utility. The Ellis River flows through the core of the community, which also has a dam, fish ladder, pond, and recreational park allowing residents and visitors to enjoy the natural outdoors.

The Community of Wellington serves the surrounding area as a regional hub for commerce and services. Several businesses and establishments are therefore located in the Community, including the Evangeline-Central Credit Union, Wellington Co-op, The Cooperators, Murphy’s Pharmacy, Char’s Restaurant, Wellington Esso and Service Station, Wellington Boys & Girls Club, Seniors Home, Royal Canadian Legion, Canada Post, and Access PEI to name a few. It is also a bilingual community, being located in the center of the Evangeline area.
