Much of the information included in this brief historical sketch of Wellington came from the book By The Old Mill Stream – History of Wellington – 1833-1983 published by the Wellington Senior Citizens History Committee in 1983.  Old photographs came from the collections of current and former village residents.  Material covering the period from 1983 to the present, including photographs,was compiled by the Community of Wellington. The work was made possible by a grant obtained from the Community Cultural Partnership Program and funding provided by the Community.
